Fall Centerpiece Contest

We Have a Winner!

Our gorgeous fall centerpiece finds a new home!

Thanksgiving came early for avid Home Design Sourcebook reader Danielle Lloyd of San Luis Obispo. Danielle is going home with a beautiful fall centerpiece courtesy of Dream Spaces and Pacific Coast Home & Garden.

She was among the many visitors who stopped by our booth at the recent home show in San Luis Obispo and got a chance to enter the centerpiece giveaway contest.

Danielle, a corrections officer, says she’s very excited to have won as she will be in charge of the centerpiece for a Thanksgiving feast given by an artist friend for about 20 people.  “He’s very creative, so I’m delighted that I can step up and provide something so artistic for his festive table,” she says.

Designed by Kevin Ray of Pacific Coast Home & Garden, host of our video series Designing Dream Spaces, this seasonal centerpiece features a bounty of fall favorites.

Kevin builds layers of fall-hued fruits and vegetables arranged around a tall candlestick to anchor the display and provide height. Colorful squash, pumpkins, peppers, apples, grapes and pomegranates are arranged symmetrically around the candlestick. These are finished with greenery and fall flowers including sunflowers, chrysanthemums and hydrangeas. A candle and a casually tied string of beads completes the look.

Danielle received a basket containing all the elements of the centerpiece and an instructional DVD. But, says Kevin, “There’s no right and there’s no wrong way. Design to your taste!”
