Classic California Homes builds high-end custom homes of exceptional quality. They provide design consulting services, working with designers and architects to help homeowners design better homes through such strategies as taking advantage of views and optimizing lot characteristics. “We help homeowners speak the architect’s language,” says CFO Robert Folsom. “And we have our own in-house architect who can help design and facilitate creation of plans.”
The building of a custom home is a very personal and emotional undertaking, says Folsom, “and we take the process seriously. Our clients are sometimes spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a home. We acknowledge that this can be a life-changing process, and that the customers may need to be guidance to help them make their ideas come to fruition—without forcing our ideas on their dream home.”
The company tries to make the construction process as painless as possible. Through a series of interviews, including meetings with their team of contractors, architects and interior designers, they help clients to manage the daunting task of selecting products and materials.
“We feel it is important to guide our clients on the journey to creating their dream home,” says Folsom. “There are many decisions to be made during the process which can overwhelm the client. Our approach is to systematically go through each phase of the construction process and narrow the choices down one by one.” One way they do this is to help clients determine the cost benefit of each item put into the home. How much does a particular design choice affect the resale value of the home versus how much it costs to put into the home?
Classic California Homes pays attention to details, even after the project is completed. As part of their after-sale followup, they provide a warranty and maintenance book for each home that tells the homeowner how to maintain item such as appliances, flooring and sprinkler system so that they last as long as possible
The team at Classic California Homes is made up of seasoned professionals, from the administrative staff to the experts in the field. Recent projects include an 8,900 square foot home with two master suites, a home theater, wine room, game room, large open living areas, a five-car garage and a 500-square foot outdoor kitchen and stunning ocean views, and a large Tuscan style home with a home theater, wine room and soaring vaulted ceilings.
