San Luis Paints first opened its doors in 1965 when Art and Bill Trussler began manufacturing paint on Victoria Street. Since that time they have expanded the business to include stores in Santa Barbara as well as San Luis Obispo county.
In September 2005, they sold the manufacturing facilities as well as four of the retail stores. San Luis Paints retained ownership of Grover Beach, Santa Barbara, Morro Bay and the Los Osos locations. Currently the company is preparing to open a store again in San Luis Obispo at the corner of Santa Barbara and High Streets (in the old Quaglino True Value store). Look for the grand opening in August.
